Due
to requests for sound deadening products Acoustical Drywall Services
has expanded our product line to help solve these problems. "Ižm
building a sound studio in my home. Can you help with the sound
transmission problems?" "I live in a condominium and I can hear
everything my neighbors are doing. Can you help?" Then a client
wanted a product for a media room being built in their house.
Acoustical Drywall Services was faced with a problem. How to improve
the sound quality inside the room and limit the sound transmission
outside of the room? Mike Rath, Owner of Acoustical Drywall Services,
began to research the sound products that were available on the
market. He found that they were expensive, not readily available
and difficult to install.
Then
Acoustical Drywall Services came across the Knight-Celotex Company
and their sound board SoundStop. SoundStop was relatively inexpensive,
easy to install and in stock at local suppliers. But was it to
good to believe? Researching Soundstop included education in sound
transmission ratings and conversations with engineers at Knight-Celotex.
After installation in a few small projects, Acoustical Drywall
Services found a new niche for its business. Now when customers
call for sound products the company has something to offer. A
few more projects came their way. Overlaying the sheetrock ceiling
in a condo caused the homeowner to rave "I canžt hear the TV,
I canžt hear the toilet flush and I canžt hear that baby cry anymore!"
These
projects prepared Acoustical Drywall Services for the biggest
project they have performed to date: A high-end vacation ownership
complex in Lake Tahoe was having terrible sound transmission problems.
The architect was suggesting pulling up the flooring and laying
down a sound deadening fabric. With beautiful hardwood floors
throughout, this expensive undertaking was not a feasible solution.
Acoustical
Drywall Services was brought onto the scene. Working with the
owners and the building department they came up with a system
that would work for everyone.
Working
in the units that had occupants above, they installed layers of
SoundStop and new sheetrock over the existing ceilings. Acoustical
Drywall Services had to come up with a trim that would compliment
the crown molding without taking away all of the beautiful detail.
They then taped, textured and painted the new ceilings. This new
system made a dramatic difference in the sound transmission problems
and resulted in another satisfied customer.
If
you have sound transmission problems please contact Acoustical
Drywall Services. We will be happy to try to help you find a solution.
